About us

The IBSEN Museum & Teater's main attraction is Henrik Ibsen's home in Oslo. Here he lived the last 11 years of his life.

Henrik Ibsen's apartment in Arbins gate 1 is restored with the original interior, original colours and decor. The museum also features an exhibition that provides a deeper insight into the world-renowned playwright`s thoughts, inspirations, and creative process.

Our theater opened for guest performances in the spring of 2022. Due to a lack of funding in 2023, the theater is unfortunately closed until further notice.

IBSEN Museum & Teater is a part of the Norsk Folkemuseum foundation.
